Women make up around %11 of Nigeria’s security services (army, navy , paramilitary) and a quarter of the Nigerian army medical Corp. This is one of the most proportion of female personnel in all of Africa. This bears testament to the professionalism of all voluntry Nigerian army forces which us an all voluntary service

So today , on Christmas Day, I have compile 26 photos of Nigerian women serving the nation to honour the women who’s  heroic exploits are often overlooked. The photos show Nigerian women in service to the nation. Some will never see their families again.

In March 2016, Oluwatoyin Ogunleye died in service to the nation captured and in a blatant act of cowardice beheaded by Boko Haram in Borno State.
